Yes, the title is a mouth full but it is the best way to describe the line of beauty products known as beeline. beeline is a beauty line that is marketed by Sweet Beginnings LLC and is not only a fabulous line that uses natural ingredients to create, mild, fragrant beauty products but every purchase “helps people facing significant barriers to employment, particularly those with histories of criminal conviction. With your purchase you provide viable opportunities for individuals to establish a work history, learn productive work habits, and gain marketable skills. Your investment builds stepping stones toward employment, career advancement, and productive membership in society.”

I got a chance to meet few of the young men who have been helped by these opportunities and the stories of transformation they experienced was touching and amazing. Here is a company not only creating a fab product but helping to stop the cycle of people of color being exploited by the Prison Industrial Complex.

Get this: the honey that they use for the products is raised locally in the city of Chicago, they add no preservatives (a lot of honey manufactures add high fructose corn syrup to keep it from crystallizing. YUCK!) and when the honey crystallizes and isn’t fit to sell as edible they use it for their products.

My personal favorite (because I bought every product they offered!) is the Hand and Foot Butter Balm. It, of course has a strong balmy smell but when just a tiny bit is used on your hands it does a great job of moisturizing and rejuvenating the skin. If you have hardened heels or work on your feet all day or just torture your feet in shoes that are cute but should never be worn by humans, this this balm works well to soothe and soften. It is especially good after a soak or pedicure. My one piece of advice use sparingly because if not it can become greasy and make the skin slippery.

The other product I highly recommend is the Body Cream. The texture is thick and smooth. Yet another product that goes a long way and if your skin devours moisturizer (mine does, I have eczema) then this is a wonderful product. It moisturizes the skin without leaving it greasy or slippery, it absorbs into the skin well, well giving the skin a nice shine.

Considering this a boutique beauty line the prices are not bad either (the Hand and Foot Butter Balm will run you 8 bucks and the Body Cream is 22 bucks). I think this is a great product for yourself or as a great gift as the have various gift tins and bags in a wide range of prices.
